CALL FOR PAPERS

The CNPLET, in collaboration with PARAGRAPH laboratory of Paris 8 University, is organizing a conference on "ICT in education and methods of teaching / learning languages" to be held in Tipaza - Algiers (Algeria). It will be an extension of the workshop on standardization, digitalization and e-learning held in Tipaza (Algeria) in late May 2008.

During these three days, the ICT in education (including online education) as a concept in general, how it applies to widely spoken languages already on the web, and finally, assessing the requirements for the linguistic learning (syntax, vocabulary, phonetics, text, graphics, etc.) of Tamazight in order to facilitate the dissemination of its teaching on the web, will be addressed.

This workshop will reflect on the impact of Information Technology and Communication: Can it play a role in teaching / learning languages? Can it encourage exploration and discovery? Do it encourage cross-cultural communication?

The Workshop will be organized in the form of:

  • Presentations devoted to scientific research on ICTs and their use in the educational process, particularly that of language learning. These presentations will be accompanied by articles to be published in the conference after evaluation by the multidisciplinary international program committee, and will take place May 30th to June 1st, 2009.
  • One half-day for meetings between practitioners and researchers through invitation, round table discussion, and presentations that will be displayed in these discussions. The presentations will be posted on the conference website.
  • One day dedicated to tutorials and workshops to share knowledge generated in recent research.
